• Briceus had been furious the past days. He could not get to talk to Elane quick enough before her depart to the Monastry. It must be something about that damn elvish swiftness no mortal human could possibly ever contest with. But the young knight had taken the fastest horse he could get. He must have made a crackling sound like a whip or a lightning when riding through the old marches' forests and plains. At least in his imagination it might have been like that.

With nothing more than a simple red tunic, pants, a belt, boots and his sword he sprang off his mare right in front of the monastry. Mud and water was splashing to all sides of the puddle he just leaped into. With determined Archon Steps he rushed into the main yard of this sacred place shouting:

"Where is Lady Elane? By Ignis, hurry and don't let your ruler wait!"

Actually he wasn't drunk this time...

  • Lyria that were shortly in Ignishort to get a wound attended to and get a bath and some new clothing on.
She had finally given in to do this before going back to the woods, after she had started to trust a nun that had continuously visited her, and she had finally picked the perfect time with a little less activity so she could go more or less unnoticed. Just as she had left the bath place and was walking from a building to another, to try to look for some of her old stuff, She heard a familiar voice.

Lyria got startled and ran the fastest she could pass the next building, where when she crossed the cornor she would hide and look out at what were happening.

'did he see me' she would think to herself.

But because of her hurry she didnt see the nun that were hanging up some clothes behind the building.

A hand landed on her shoulder and she turned around horrified. But relaxed when she saw it was the nun she had been talking to. Lyria told her "Lord Briceus is here, you better go greet him and have someone prepare a room and say that he is welcome to stay until Elané returns"

Lyria would then look to the ground and just as the nun where about to leave she would take her hand and add "It would be for the better that he dosen´t know of my presence, I dont know what Elané told him, But i will be out of Your hair soon enough" She watched as the nun left around the cornor and decided it for the better to maybe head directly towards the woods near Ignishort.

'Im not ready, i dont know if i will ever be ready nor able to look him in the eyes' Lyria grabbed around her hair nervously and stood there for a secound. Then she began to move in the direction of the woods.

  • Lyria's retreat had to be quick and stealthy. Her fleet steps took her just straight forward behind the protective line of hanging clothes. Luckily the monk's and nun's robes had been long enough to hide her legs and feet as well. She felt safe.... almost. But then her eyes widened and a freezing chill went down her spine. She just entered a spot where the wind blew down a larger blanket and to her terror she stood in the middle of this empty spot, paralyzed. Run! Run! Back? Forth? Where to go? She rushed as quickly and nimble as possible to the safe cover of the next clothes and then around a corner.

Her breath was fast and her heart beat as loud she wasn't sure Briceus wouldn't hear it from distance.

Meanwhile the castellan started looking around the place. He was restless and every second he waited seemed like a whole hour to him. Suddenly he stopped in motion as something was passing through his peripherical eye sight. Briceus turned his view and spotted some clothings hanging on a line. But there, wasn't something moving the moment he turned his sight. Or was it merely the wind? His intuition told him to investigate this further and he made some steps to that place. He was the kind of man always following his intuition. Ignis was guiding him and hesitating meant distrust and failure.

Suddenly he spotted a woman behind the hanging robes. She seemed like she was hiding or at least standing there almost motionless. Who was that woman? He placed a hand on her shoulder forcing her around.

"Oh, mylord! You almost frightened me. Your arrival hasn't been announced. Let me prepare a room for you and get you some food and some wine, yes? Of course, you will get our best harvest we have saved just for the margrave and you."

The nun gently put a hand on his arm guiding him back to the center of the yard. Briceus was allowing her dragging him away from the washed clothes he still had his eyes focussed on.

    "I .... Haven't you seen ...."

"Yes, mylord? What have you seen?"

"Err... I'm not sure, I ... " He shook off the thoughts he had in mind. "Just a ghost."

"A ghost? Oh, by Ignis, we had no ghosts here in Ignishort since .... well, we never had ghosts here, I think. Let me tell you about the visionary dreams some of us keep saying they have."

With a last look back puzzled Briceus got out of sight.

  • Lyria didnt get Very far Before all the rush and then suddenly facing all these things.. being in Ignishort and Briceus arrival, it all seemed Very overwhelming.

Her legs began to shiver, she moved her hair behind her ear in doing so she realized that it was wet, she felt her face and yes she was confirmed a little stream of tears moved from her eyes and down her face.

She would then look to the ground and realize that the wound on her leg She had just had fixed had opened in the rush and it was bleeding... Lyria sat down with Her back against a rock that lonely roamed the landscape.

She will have to go back there.. She calculated the risk.. if she went back at the right time which will probably be very soon she could reach the infirmery and get the wound fixed again.. Briceus Probably would go to his room directly.. Maybe..

She sat there 2 min waiting for her eyes to clear up. Then wiping off the tears from her face.. took a deep breath.. looked back at were she came..

'if i go behind the building i will probably only shortly be visible from the front of the monestary.'

Then she began moving there doing exact that.. She got there the door made a lot of sound opening.. her heart stopped for a second, and she hold her breath. She then Grasped a bit for air fortunatly she was seemingly unnoticed. Then she entered..

the exact same nun that did her leg before stood there giving her a dissapointed look as she entered the infirmary... "I said keep still for a while and then what! You came not even 30 min after i just fixed you" her dissapointment were quickly replaced by a warmt when she saw how much Lyria doubted she should be there... She padded the chair and told Lyria to sit down. When Lyria did that she began stiching her up..

'ouch I will never get used to this ouch.'

After a moment she was ready to go again.. Lyria thanked the nun before taking steps to leave.. "You Better come back you Know, a Lot of people is Counting on you on what you do.. if we receive more letters I will send for you- vengefull spirit" Lyria didnt look back, it seemed that they were thinking her to be doing exacly what needed to be done.. Lyria didnt take pride in her work in that second, she just wanted to go back to her Woods.. Before Lyria opened the door to leave she would lay her head against the door and listen.. someone was fighting.. 'its probably just Some munks maybe nuns practicing'. She then opened the door looking down on the ground. She didnt want anyone to notice her eyes.. She moved outside again..

Then she remembered that she wanted Some of her old stuff. Still Looking at the ground she began moving in the direction of the building in which her old room had been..

  • Meanwhile some shouts and quick steps could be heard from afar. Of course Lyria recognized the voice yelling something like "...didn't came for resting in tiny chambers...." and ".... if she's not here, tell her that ... ". Through a small hole in the old walls, she could spot Briceus standing in the yard again. It seemed as if his horse was readied for him again.

With a last look around his eyes immediatly stopped on Lyria's and it wasn't clear if he could actually see her. But it was impossible .... nearly impossible. With a determined leap, the man got back on his horse:

"Tell her we will have to talk." the Knight then turned his mare facing the gate for a thundering departure.

  • Lyria let out a relieved sigh, then she headed for the building, now facing in the direction of the gate where her eyes would follow the horse leaving and Briceus.
'It is for the better, he didn´t seem to know.. Im not even sure he would recognize me.. what i have become.. to stay whom i have decided to be, i musn´t get to close to people.. i-i cannot do it... i can´t face what isn´t meant to be faced.'
Lyria decided to shut down her thoughts as she entered the building. In her old room in a chest, she would find what it is she had been seeking. Lyria equipped her swords and her axe. She then headed for the door before leaving she stopped and remembered. Lyria then went to the bed and would feel under it. she got her little bag of secrets put it in her belt. As she was about to leave she noticed her shield on the door, would feel the surface of it and first now she was wondering.. why is her room exacly as it were.
When she heard children laughing and running out in the hall she got startled and would hide behind the door.
As she was leaving she looked once at her shield again.. 'this isn´t who i am anymore' a bitter tear would leave her eye as she heard the children now in the yard. Lyria hurried up and left the monestary heading away to where she had been since she faced Elané.
