Des Markgrafen Kammer - The Margraves solar

  • Situated on the upper level of the castle, the solar of the Margrave consisted of several small rooms, connected by doors. Here Balor could be found, when he did not reside in the great hall. Two stairs led up to the corridor, one large and obvious, another small and tucked away behind a bend in the wall, like a forgotten means to get away unseen.

It was the larger, the more obvious stair, that Balor now descended, dressed in red robes and wearing his chain of office, with the golden scorpion gleaming on his chest.

  • The door to the room creaked a bit. If one was looking closely, they could see an eye and a nose peekingin.

But the moment Molly saw the red cloak, she knocked quickly and opened the door more clearly in front of her.
"Sir." She called "if you have time?" She smiled politely. She stood with a hairstyle that had once been neat but was now messed up. Her dress was simple and red, and on her arm she wore a small lump of fabric. She was cleerly nervus, but allso she seemed excited.

  • Behind Molly, a rather nervous looking young woman stood, hands folded around a small brown leatherbound book, in front of her, wearing a simple red dress on top of a blue underdress and a white apron. Her hair was also once neatly made in a half updo, but several small locks of hair had loosened itself and framed her round face.

Ila looked at Molly as she knocked on the door and called out. Her heart beating loudly in her chest. All these nonsensical formalities making her particularly frazzled.

  • "Ah", Balor seemed surprised for a moment and stopped.

"Mistress Molly. I have not seen you in a while. Welcome back to Drachenbrück. What can I do for you and ...", the margrave stopped as he heard the call outside. He raised an eyebrow. "You are in high demand, it seems", he said to Molly.

  • Molly looked back at Ila in confusion. That woman had the strangest outbursts near authorities!

Quickly she looked back at Bailor, with a polite and apologetic smile. In this case, she might not be able to blame Ila for anything.
She herself admired Bailor a lot, and was proud to call him her boss. But at the same time, he was also one of the people she feared the most. She wasn't quite sure why, but there was something about him, and it wasn't just his temper.

she snapped out of her thoughts! "sir, I .. WE have come to ask permission for a new and very, very different project .."

Molly smiled again, and stepped into the room. "if you have time and want to allow us?"

  • The look on Molly's face and the tone in Balor's voice immidiately made Ila blush and shut her lips tight.

Dang it. She thought as she just looked down at her feet, embarrassed.

  • "A new project?" Balor looked intrigued.

"Well, I was about to go to the military council, where I hope to meet your husband, Mistress Molly. But I am sure I can spare some time for you and Ila. Please", he stepped inside again and invited the women with a polite gesture to follow him.

The margrave walked over to a small table situated next to a window, that allowed a wonderful view across the town. He sat in one of the four chairs.

"Please, have a seat and tell me, what this is about?"
